PRESS RELEASE ABOUT THE WORLD RECORD: MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (April 16, 2009) – The standing world record for most cocktails made in one hour was broken this evening by The Shout House Dueling Pianos’ bar manager, Chris Raph. The standing record was 389 cocktails, set by Matthias Knorr in Munich, Germany.

A list of 784 cocktails was submitted to Guinness World Records earlier this month. Tonight, in front of a crowd of over 300 onlookers, Raph poured each cocktail, one by one in order from that list. Cocktail recipes required at least one alcoholic ingredient and one non-alcoholic ingredient, and at least 3 total ingredients.

Raph’s attempt began at 8:30 p.m. Raph reached the standing record cocktails 389 with 25 minutes remaining. By 9:30 p.m. Raph had poured an unbelievable 662 cocktails, over 10 cocktails per minute. At 9:34 p.m. Guinness World Records™ Adjudicator, Carlos Martinez, officially declared Raph as the holder of world record for most cocktails made in one hour.
